Course

This race is the flattest and fastest course in the St. Louis region.  Whether you are running your very first race, using this race as training run for another event, or just “Gotta Have More Cowbell,” you have come to the right place!

The first half of the very flat 26.2-mile Marathon, USATF certified run, is the same course as the MO’ Cowbell Half Marathon.  It starts off from the banks of Missouri River in St. Charles, Missouri, and takes runners on a winding course through the area’s most historic neighborhoods and one of its most progressive locales in New Town. The course heads back to the shores of the river.  For the second half of the route, near the start / finish line, runners will turn northbound onto the Katy Trail and travel a little over 6 miles and then make a u-turn heading them back toward Runner’s Village.  Runners will cross from the Katy Trail onto Riverside Drive near the Foundry Art Centre, then it’s a flat stretch to the finish.

The 13.1 mile Half Marathon, USATF certified run, is very similar to last year’s course.  It  takes off from the banks of Missouri River in St. Charles, Missouri, and takes runners on a winding course through the area’s most historic neighborhoods and one of its most progressive locales in New Town. The race then returns to the shores of the river where family and friends have plenty of space to cheer runners to the finish line.  The Half Marathon Relay exchange point is located in New Town.

The 5K run starts off the banks of the Missouri River in St.Charles, Missouri, just a few minutes after the Half Marathon. It runs through French Town and eventually turns into the newly created DuSable Park Ed Bales Area and eventually onto the Katy Trail. Runners will cross from the Katy Trail onto Riverside Drive near the Foundry Art Centre, then it’s a short distance to the finish line where there will be lots of Cowbell fanatics cheering them on!
